A new client needed deck staining service in Beavercreek. While Painters Now does not provide service to the eastern portion of Beavercreek due to distance we are glad to help within the area on the west of 35. Our clients had added a large ambitious portion to there existing decking the previous summer and the new deck wood had time to season. We generally suggest letting the decking be exposed between 6 months to a year prior to painting or staining the deck. The deck was a partially shaded deck area that was prone to algae build up that made it as slippery as an ice skating rink at times. Taking this into consideration and the fact a large portion of the deck was surrounding the above ground pool they opted to add an addition aggregate to the stain for anti-slip protection. The client selected SuperDeck Kings Canyon color with IR shield, an off the shelf product at Sherwin Williams for the decking and we added duckback crushed walnut shells as the anti-slip material which worked extremely well. Due to the algae issues also existing on the decks railing Painters Now suggested using Pure White colored Duration exterior paint in a satin finish to help make the railings fight off the algae and be easily cleanable, thus extending the overall life of the completed work. The color variance between pure white and super white is subtle, but will make any stains or algae less obvious and is a color we often use to resolve painting situations.
